Arrival
I forgot how long the flights actually are. This time we stopped off in Thailand for a few hours and then made our way to Hong Kong. The distributor very kindly picked us up and then dropped us to the hotel.
I didn’t have any issues with the time zone going from East to West although I was slightly cautious as I heard that direction is likely to enduce mania for people with bipolar. So far, so good.
The City
This felt like the first time I really was a tourist in HK, at least since the backpacking days in Hong Kong back in the day. Funnily enough, I used it as a bit of a guide. We went to Tim Wo Han dim-sum (the world’s most affordable michellin star restaurant – fast-food style) as well as Big Buddah taking the gondola. The distributor kindly took us to Victoria Peek also.
In the thick of it in Causeway bay we quickly needed to get some air and there’s a few parks for a breather. Otherwise, you need to get away. The best way to do so was on the adorable little trams they have.

Work
Completed all my work tasks and was very kindly invited to the British Consulate, along with my partner, for a networking event. It was good fun, it wiped that aura I had above government buildings and makes it seem a lot less scary and a lot more accessible. Most of these places are just buildings after all. They have rooms, they host events. They just happen to have iron-clad security before you’re able to get in.
We had some great food, some nice drinks and were on our merry way!
